Advanced Battery Technologies'
Batteries Prove Successful in Use by China National Oceanography
Institute's Ocean No.1 Deep-Sea Exploration Vessel
Aug.08, 2007
Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: ABAT) announced today
that its polymer lithium-ion batteries are being used by the China
National Oceanography Institute's Ocean No.1 vessel to enable
deep-sea drilling at 7,500 meters. Advanced Battery Technologies
distributes rechargeable polymer-lithium-ion (PLI) batteries.
ABAT's PLI batteries were put to the test during a 180-day deep-sea
expedition, during which the Institute's Ocean No. 1 vessel
successfully drilled for samples. Participating oceanographers gave
high praise to the grab bucket and drilling sampling machines using
ABAT's 100V and 22Ah, and 300V and 55Ah PLI batteries, respectively.
Specifically, they noted that ABAT's PLI batteries have a number of
advantages over other types of batteries used in recent years,
including higher energy density, enhanced safety performance, and
the ability to endure high levels of pressure. Overall, they rated
ABAT's PLI batteries superior to other batteries for deep-sea
exploration and expressed confidence that ABAT's PLI batteries would
enable them to accomplish the tasks of future deep-sea exploratory
missions.
"We are extremely pleased to receive such glowing reviews from the
oceanographers aboard the China National Oceanography Institute's
Ocean No. 1 vessel," stated Mr. Zhiguo Fu, ABAT Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer. "We are confident that our PLI batteries will
enable Ocean No. 1 oceanographers to efficiently and successfully
complete their deep-sea explorations," concluded Mr. Fu.
