China RuiTai biopolysaccharide pilot
completed; moving to mass production
Aug 04, 2008
China RuiTai International Holdings (OTC BB: CRUI), a producer and
distributor of cellulose ether products, said it completed a pilot
run for producing biopolysaccharide and is now ready for mass
production.
Biopolysaccharide is a water-soluble, viscous polysaccharide that
can be made into film and fiber and can be used in medicine capsules
and recyclable shopping bags.
It also has applications in the cosmetic and food industries.
Upon completion of its new plant, RuiTai will be capable of
producing 100 tons of biopolysaccharide a year.
The company's management said it expects to begin mass production in
the fourth quarter and estimates the selling price for
biopolysaccharide to be 200,000 yuan a ton.
China's demand for biopolysaccharide in the pharmaceutical industry
is estimated to be about 2,000 tons per year, RuiTai said.
The company is one of the largest non-ionic cellulose ether
producers in China and supplies the pharmaceutical, PVC, oil field
exploration and construction industries worldwide.
